I recently managed to get my hands on Prime Skin's Jelly Plump, a 3-in-1 clean petroleum alternative that promises to remove makeup, cleanse your skin, and triple as an overnight facial mask.
It was a long wait.
This product was coming my way from Australia of course, so I expected it. I'd been following Prime Skin on Instagram for a LONG while when they were still posting well-made skincare factoid posts, sporting a blue-and-white aesthetic.
I was so excited when I heard that they were launching a product. A product that was made to streamline one's skincare routine and to be the antithesis of the common 5 or 10-step routines made popular by mainstream brands.
I love a good multi-tasking product, so I ordered, (after trying to figure out what AUD translated to in USD). The Australian price was $95.95, but $60 for me. A fair trade, I supposed.
Founders Jana Tangalakis and Krysten Bastas created Prime Skin in Melbourne, Australia in 2021. It was a product that was 3 years in the making, with constant tweaks to the formula and excessive research into clean ingredients.
The product took around two to three weeks to finally arrive, and it was well worth the wait. That afternoon, I excitedly took it out of its packaging, (which is also recyclable) and took some photos.

The consistency of Jelly Plump seems similar to that of Vaseline, but stretchier and more malleable. It feels slightly thicker when it goes on your skin, but it quickly melts into a thinner consistency when you begin massaging into your face.
Jelly Plump supposedly can be a single stand-in for the three steps in your skincare routine: makeup removal, cleansing, and the third optional step, a facial mask. It boasts rich, calming, and sensitive skin-friendly ingredients like vitamin E, sunflower seed oil, calendula extract, and a few others.
That night, I opened it to find a sizable amount of product and opted to test some of the jelly that was sticking to the top with my fingers. A little goes a long way, I found.

My skin was a bit sensitive due to the lack of sleep from the past week or two, but I felt no irritation to the jelly. I swiped it on my face and massaged it all over, feeling some of the dead skin, dirt, and grime loosen under my fingerpads.
Once I was satisfied, I doused my hands with a bit of water and prepared to emulsify the product. The product quickly responded and transformed into a cleansing milk like the package stated it would.
I cleansed for about 60 seconds and then rinsed the product off. My skin felt clean and hydrated afterward, and I went to apply my other skincare products and ended my routine with a thick moisturizer.
